New Dragon

My first watercolor dragon. I'm pretty excited, I've been motivated to sit down and just put something on a blank page, so 'New Dragon', seemed to fit. It's as if he just opened his eyes for the first time..just taking in the moonset. Its a new universe! He hasn't even figured out if he's on a cloud or on a planet. If you really study him, you'll see he's not complete...but neither am I. This is all just the beginning of the story, a blank page, with so much to fill in. Like the Grover book..."Don't turn that page". If you were into Golden Books as a child, you'll know which book I'm referring to. I loved that one! I made my whole family read it to me over and over again with all the loud colorful dramatics of course...and just a couple months ago, I saw it at the grocery store and had to buy it. It is a new book. I'm making time to draw, I'm making time to paint, I'm making time to study other artist. I want to know why this has been nagging me my whole life, and I intend on turning the page!

Rip Van Winkle

I'm back! I know it's been forever since I added anything new to my blog, but summer happened in New England and you have to take advantage of every moment before the leaves start to fall again. So I thought my latest drawing would be most appropriate since my blog was in sleep mode for several months.

Bear with me...I'm turning over a new leaf. I decided to withdrawal from my art class this semester. The teacher wasn't worth the effort or time...the nasty biddy. She no more than read line per line out of a book..I can do that on my own time and skip the twelve hours of homework to spend more time practicing on my own. I'm sort of at a place where I don't know where to go next..I'm so frustrated with University Art classes..they take so long to get to where I want to go and they don't really offer the classes I feel I need. So I'm sort of taking a step outside the box this semester and investigating what other options may be out there..it's a big world, there has got to be a place for me in it!
